Lots of great climbing here, even a multipitch or two. Best climbed in the cooler temps and morning before the sun beats on you. Climbing is closed for falcon nesting in the spring, check their website and Mountain Project for more info on dates.

Very nice. Close to a high school. There was a lake with a water feature. Your allowed to fish with catch and release guide lines. Wildlife includes geese turtles fish and more I didn’t observe. Little guy 1 1/2 and 4 year old loved the slides and play area!

My Girlfriends mother was instrumental in setting this up after her only son took his life. It was a good way to remember him and highlights one of the pioneering families that settled here. It was a tough existence, and they survived here for generations, and I remember Dale Borges and we grew up together here in the Northgate area in the same grade. I recall his father being so strict as to shave his head when he’d done wrong.

Great hiking Trails, Good For Dogs and Mountain bikes. Rainy season will bring lots of mud, so be prepared. And be mindful of Horses in this area, as there are some equestrian centers nearby, and their riders are somewhat possessive of the trails.

Beautiful start to Mt Diablo park, stay at lower elevation to minimize the amount of climbing in your hike, or go all the way to the summit.

Nice for mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding. These cows mooed menacingly at me, so I had to climb the hill to get around them.

This is a very scenic hiking place. I had a great time hiking here with my family. There are lots of trees on the trails. We also found a few well maintained picnic areas. The hike is not very steep and can easily be done by most of us. Because we went in spring time we got a chance to get lots of pictures which were worth capturing. On a sunny Sunday the hike wasn’t very crowded.

Best off leash dog park in the East Bay. Located at the end of Casle Rock Road. Been working with my Search and Rescue K9’s for 25 years and just a nice leisurely hike with some real grinders thrown in. Especially fun in the winter when the streams are running fairly strong and deep. My dogs love it.

A nice quiet hidden gem of a park. Great place to take your dog to the dog park as well as your child to the fun looking playground. Lots of shade is provided here which is nice during the warmer months. Great spot for a family picnic with lots of grass space and a gazebo to hangout in. This park is close to the Iron Horse Regional Trail so it’s a great chance for you to for a nice run or walk nearby. Plenty of parking is available! Can’t go wrong at this park! Highly recommend!

The concert in the park is great. I wish they would do it throughout the summer. Movie in the park is not as exciting since the reason you go to the park is socialize and listen to music. Kids will be on the playground anyway and people watch movies at home. Specially after covid. My 2 cents…

Excellent for kids, with swings and multiple play structures, sand diggers, slides, end much more. Grass surrounds the play areas, though it’s mostly sloped.
There are picnic tables in the shade and a half court caged basketball hoop.
I only wish there was more diversity.

Great spot.. but…Use cash. The bartender-ettes tend to place some special charges, to tip themselves on your card.

Pay cash and pay attention to the charges and watch their faces as they frown

The only bar in America where paying CASH is frowned upon

THINK ABOUT THAT
